October is the month when some winter resorts release their initial winter tourism offers. Booking hotel IN explored the Best value Ski Resorts around the world to provide a better insight into the potential cost of a seven-day winter holiday for a family of four at some of the less-known popular destinations.

Winter tourism offers everything from low-cost ski vacations and festive city breaks to remote Arctic wilderness adventures.

Major travel operators have already released their first offers for the winter season offering early booking incentives, flexible deposits, and expanded routes. Early bookings offer discounts of 10 to 25 percent, and some hotels also offer a “7=6” deal—seven nights for the price of six.

For a family of four, however, accommodation alone can cost from around €600 in Bardonnechia Italy up to over €1,600 in the more expensive regional centers, excluding ski passes, transport, and equipment.

Zab, Poland

A review of offers from several online booking agencies shows that winter packages are already on sale. Megabon has 12 offers for Poland and around 50 for Bulgaria, featuring hotels in Zab in Poland and Bansko, Borovets, and Pamporovo in Bulgaria.

There are the most specific offers for Zab, where early-booking discounts at some hotels are valid until the end of October or November. One specific example is the Hotel Redyk Ski & Relax 4* An apartment for two people, for the period from October 23 to January 11, costs €373 per night, including breakfast. Without the discount, a seven-night stay would cost €609. The hotel offers a 15% discount for bookings made by October 23. The price includes breakfast, swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi, fitness and tourist tax.

Consequently, the simple choice of whether a family stays in an apartment—handling their own meals—or opts for a hotel with half-board can result in a price difference of nearly €900 for a one-week stay.

Between December 30 and January 4, stay in Hotel Courtland in Nagano costs around €50 per night. For a one-week stay, this comes to approximately 1,080–1,120 euros, with breakfast included.

Prices may be higher during the winter season in January and February—especially around New Year’s and school holidays—but generally range from approximately 600 to 900 euros for a seven-night stay in a private apartment for four people. The town itself offers numerous private apartments for four, typically located 7–10 kilometers from the Nagano ski centers. Based on current listings, a family can secure an entire apartment for roughly 90–120 euros per night—amounting to about 630–840 euros for a seven-night stay for a family of four—though prices may be higher during peak winter periods.
